| Launching ceremony of PAPS ‘2013, organized by Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts & Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM) was held at Hotel Ramada Plaza on 3rd September 2012. The ceremony started with presentation by Mashood Khan (Convener PAPS ‘2013) to highlight the scope of PAPS Show 2013 for the exhibitor. Mr Munir K Bana (Vice Chairman & Chairman PAPS ‘2013) stated that PAAPAM represents over 350 Tier 1 manufacturers of vehicle parts providing employment to over 200,000 skilled workers all over Pakistan. He also highlighted that the Vehicles being produced in Pakistan have high content of local parts. In case of Passenger Cars, up to 70% parts are manufactured in Pakistan, and 90% in case of Motorcycles, 3-wheelers and Tractors. PAAPAM Members have excelled in several areas of manufacturing technologies such as Sheet Metal Pressing, Plastic Injection Molding, Rubber Molding & Extrusion, Blow Molding, Steel Forgings, Chrome Plating, Surface Treatment and various other technologies. Syed Nabeel Hashmi (Chairman PAAPAM) emphasized the capabilities of the industry. A wide range of highly precision parts for all type of vehicles are being produced by PAAPAM members and automobile industry is one of the top 10 contributors to Government Tax revenue. This industry can be a great launching pad for developing expertise in other areas of engineering technologies. With this he also underlined that PAAPAM members have developed their technical capabilities to setup an impressive infrastructure for producing parts that fully meet quality standards required by Global Brands. He also brought the government’s attention for a favourable environment so that auto industry can expand their volumes and become the largest contributor to employment creation and Government revenues. “PAAPAM will continue to strive, along with the Government & OEMs to make this dream a reality.” PAPS’ 2013 will be held from 11th to 13th January 2013 at expo centre and the Event Management Company is Petrol Solution.
